JOB DESCRIPTION:  

EURES Agenzia Piemonte Lavoro is seeking a mechanical Engineer – Modelling & Simulation for Europe's leading research facility for scientific research using neutrons in Grenoble, France. The facility operates the brightest neutron source in the world, reliably delivering intense neutron beams to 43 unique scientific instruments. As part of the Projects and Techniques Division, the Design, Calculations and Construction service is responsible, among other things, for modelling, designing and producing complex assemblies for projects being carried out in the Institute’s Science and Reactor Divisions. 

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out numerical analyses and simulations in order to validate and optimise mechanical designs. You will ensure the reliability, performance and safety of the mechanical structures, systems and equipment developed. 

SKILLS: 

• You have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering (or related field) and at least 5 years' experience of performing mechanical design calculations, ideally in a design office. Experience of civil engineering design calculations would be an asset. 
• You are proficient in finite element analysis and mechanical simulation using ANSYS, as well as static, dynamic, fatigue, vibration and impact methods. You have a thorough knowledge of the standards and regulations in force and are familiar with CODAP, RCC-M and Eurocodes. 
• You are meticulous and methodical, able to work independently, and have a proactive approach to proposing solutions.
